The new exhibition traces the origins and evolution of the human species in Iringa, a region that harbours significant archaeological sites and discoveries dating back to the Stone Age and the African Iron Age. The exhibition curation served to develop professional capacities of Iringa Boma staff and a number of students from different universities in Tanzania. The ceremonial opening will be accompanied by a cultural entertainment programme including cultural performances, live band, traditional fashion show, and food and drinks until night.
The exhibition and its opening has been supported by the Gerda Henkel Foundation and the Stiftung Nord-Süd-Brücken with funds from the Free State of Saxony in Germany.
